Unless a product listing specifically states otherwise, an OEM-style replacement belt is not a genuine belt manufactured or packaged by the original equipment manufacturer. How to Find the Correct Replacement Belt
The most reliable way to select a replacement belt is to match the original part number and the complete equipment model. Before ordering, verify the following:
- Equipment manufacturer: Identify the mower or equipment brand shown on the machine.
- Complete model number: Check the identification label on the frame, under the seat, near the engine, on the mower deck or in the owner’s manual.
- Original belt or OEM part number: Look for the number printed on the old belt or listed in the parts diagram.
- Belt function: Determine whether the belt operates the mower deck, blades, wheels, transmission, hydrostatic drive, auger, traction system or an attachment.
- Deck or attachment size: The same mower model can use different belts with different deck sizes and attachments.

Types of OEM-Style Replacement Belts
Deck and Blade-Drive Belts
Deck belts transfer engine power to the mower-deck spindles and blades. A worn or incorrect deck belt can cause slipping, squealing, poor blade speed, uneven cutting or repeated belt failure.
Ground-Drive and Transmission Belts
Drive belts transfer power to the wheels, transaxle or transmission. Symptoms of wear can include slow movement, slipping, poor hill performance or failure to move.
Hydrostatic and Traction-Drive Belts
These belts operate hydrostatic drive systems and traction components. Correct belt profile, tension and routing are especially important for dependable operation.
Snowblower Auger and Traction Belts
Snowblowers may use one belt for the auger and another for wheel traction. Verify the exact equipment model and belt function before ordering.
Timing, Cogged and Multi-Rib Belts
Specialty belt designs must match the pulley system and equipment specification. A standard V-belt should not be substituted when the machine requires a timing, cogged, double-V or multi-rib belt.
Edger and Attachment-Drive Belts
Outdoor equipment attachments often require application-specific belts. Confirm the attachment model as well as the power unit model.
Why the Original Part Number Matters
Two belts can appear to have similar widths and lengths but still differ in profile, construction, effective length, cord placement and intended operating load. Are these genuine OEM belts?

What does OEM-style replacement mean?

Where can I find my equipment model number?
